BRIGHT and TROPICAL pineapple meets its TART cousin the lemon and works together to tame the richness of bourbon in my Pineapple Bourbon Lemonade!

It’s Friday again (thank foodness) and that means another 3 Ingredient Cocktail! This time I am taking you to the tropics with the taste of pineapple.
Delving into the bourbon mixed drinks arena I am pairing it with tart lemonade and this Pineapple Bourbon Lemonade is the right way to start off your weekend!
Last week I went all cherry on you with my Cherry Amaretto Limeade. I had to do something with all the cherries I keep buying! I even mix them with bourbon in my Cherry Lime Bourbon Smash.
But this time, I am mixing my bourbon (or my hubby’s bourbon) with pineapples.

Pineapple Drinks
I haven’t thought about bourbon cocktails with pineapple juice before until this last weekend when I bought a few pineapples on sale.
I was already mixing a cocktail for Brooks when I popped a piece of the fresh cut pineapple in my mouth.
Taking a sip of his bourbon, as it is a new bottle and one I haven’t tried before, it tasted so good with the flavor of pineapple still in my mouth. This immediately got my brain wheels turning.
How about a pineapple mixed drink made with bourbon?!?!

Cocktails with Pineapple Juice
The combination of the pineapple and the bourbon tastes amazing but I felt it a little 2-dimensional. Mixed drinks with pineapple juice need something equally full flavored to balance them out. The richness of the bourbon and the sweetness of the pineapple needs a little intermediary to cut through the two strong flavors.
Keeping with the yellow colors I grabbed a lemon out of my bowl and squeezed the juice into the drink. A quick stir with my finger (yes, I use my finger) and I took a sip. Perfect! Bourbon and Lemonade is now my new favorite:) This is also at the top of my list of pineapple juice cocktails.
If you are not a fan of bourbon and prefer something a little more “in your face” then feel free to make this a pineapple whiskey lemonade instead!
Now I call this a “lemonade” but I don’t start with a lemonade base. You can if you want to, but the pineapple juice is sweet enough already that I don’t think you need it.

Pineapple Bourbon Lemonade Cocktail
Just as I garnished my Mini Tropical Cocktails with small, snack-like sticks of pineapple, I made some for this cocktail too. Instead of the clips, I stick them on my skewers so they can hang out with their toes in the pool. Or the tips of the pineapple wading in the pineapple bourbon lemonade, soaking up all that yummy goodness!
Just as though you are sitting poolside with your toes on the top step, or on the beach with your feet in the sand.
What other spirits go with lemonade?
I love bourbon, vodka, rum, and even tequila with it. I haven’t tried gin with lemonade yet, but it is next on my list!
Will this lemonade help me lose weight?
This pineapple bourbon lemonade is not the lemon water and cayenne pepper drink so I am not sure it would.
What other fruits pair well with lemonade?
I love to try lots of different fruits with lemonade, but my faves are strawberry, passionfruit, and cherry! If you find another fruit that you love with lemonade, please let me know!

Thank you! I ended up using Weller because I love that it has more of a caramel flavor to it but feel free to use any bourbon you have on hand! Enjoy!
