Ingredient Notes
- Mayo – Duke’s is my favorite as it’s super creamy. If you haven’t tried it yet, Kewpie is really good too. Use your favorite just not Miracle Whip.
- Ketchup – Heinz is my go-to but if you’re a Hunts person that’s cool too.
- Pickle juice – Plain old dill pickle juice. Nothing flavored like garlic or spicy.
- Worcestershire sauce – Substitute coconut aminos or balsamic vinegar in a pinch.
- Spices – Paprika, garlic powder. You won’t need salt or black pepper.

Storage
Fry sauce will keep in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to a 4 days. Give it a quick stir before enjoying. I don’t recommend freezing it as it will separate when you thaw it.
Plus, it’s so easy to just whip up when you need some.
Homemade Fry Sauce Uses:

Yes, fry sauce is often associated with Utah and is considered a regional specialty in the state. It’s particularly tied to the fast-food chain Arctic Circle, which claims to have originated the condiment in the 1940s. While everyone makes their own version of the sauce, Utah has a strongest claim to this specific combination of ketchup, mayonnaise, and other ingredients.
Not exactly. They have the same base ingredients, but thousand island dressing usually contains chopped or diced pickles and onions for more of a chunky texture where fry sauce is smooth.
