Chocolate Cake Shot

When you think of a rich and decadent slice of chocolate cake, do you think of a cocktail shot? Did you know that you can take a shot, consisting of just a few simple ingredients that are not even cake, and yet it still tastes like chocolate cake in your mouth!

This recipe is not like any of the other shots recipes that you are used to. Most of the traditional shots are just what their name says they are.

Lemon drop is lemon juice and vodka, pickleback is whiskey followed by pickle juice, and pineapple upside down shot is pineapple juice, cake vodka, and cherries!

This is not a birthday cake shot either. Even if you prefer a German Chocolate Cake as a birthday cake, this is an every day, every occasion, every party kind of cocktail shot, so enjoy!!

Cocktail Shots

You may have heard of a German chocolate cake shot or even chocolate cake shots, but this is not your mama’s cake shot.

I ramped up the usual 2-ingredient shot by eliminating the sugar and lemon and adding sweet and salty treat!

Now I must warn you that even though these salted caramel german chocolate cake dessert shooter is sweet and tastes like cake, these are strong shots.

After tasting a few of them to get the flavor just right, I was definitely feeling it.

Please drink responsibly!

DO I NEED TO USE LEMON WEDGE AFTER THE SHOT?

Typically the shot is taken with a lemon wedge afterward. I added lemonade to the shot so you don’t have to do it.

CAN I USE FLAVORED VODKA?

You can use plain or vanilla vodka for this shot.

WHAT CAN I USE IF I DON’T HAVE FRANGELICO?

If you don’t have a hazelnut liqueur, you can substitute hazelnut extract and water to make up the volume.

CAN I USE AMARETTO INSTEAD OF FRANGELICO?

Yes, you can!

Can you use a lemon vodka instead of vodka and lemonade? If not, can you suggest a specific lemonade? Because they all taste so different. Thank you.

If you use lemon vodka it will be strong and not as much of a lemon taste. I recommend Simply Lemonade as it has the best flavor to me. Not too tart or too sweet.
