This salt and vinegar popcorn is the perfect snack for movie night. Besides lots of butter I like a lot of salt. If you can’t get enough of potato chips, this salt and vinegar popcorn is just what you need.
But popcorn is not just for butter and salt, I like to make my buffalo popcorn and my spicy nacho popcorn too.

How To Make Salt And Vinegar Popcorn

- In a large pot over medium heat, heat the oil. Add three kernels to the oil. Heat until they start to pop.

- Add the remaining kernels. Cover and shake the pot until there are about 5-8 seconds between popping or until the majority of the kernels are popped.

- Remove from the heat. Place the popped kernels in a large bowl.

- Melt the butter in a small bowl. Stir in the vinegar. Drizzle over the popcorn, stirring or tossing to coat. Sprinkle with salt and enjoy!

Storage
Once you drizzle the melted butter on the popcorn, you will need to eat it immediately or it will get soggy.
You can pop the popcorn and make the drizzle. Just keep them separately until ready to eat it.
No More Soggy Popcorn
You can add the melted butter and vinegar to the oil when popping and then just sprinkle with salt. You might need to increase the amount of vinegar to get a more intense flavor.
Be careful because the vinegar can cause the oil to splatter a little. You can also use a powdered vinegar and sprinkle it on with the salt.

Tapas Tips & Tricks
- Use a neutral oil like sunflower oil, canola oil, or coconut oil.
- You can also pop the popcorn in an air popper.
- I prefer a flaky kosher salt with large flakes but you can also use sea salt.
- Use dry kernels not microwave popcorn. The popcorn seasonings won’t stick to it.
- Store in a popcorn tin or other airtight container.
- Skip the vinegar in the melted butter and use vinegar powder like this one. It gets its tang from sodium diacetate and malic acid.
