Prepare a fruity and delicious holiday cocktail in minutes using this Cranberry Sangria recipe. You won’t need to head to the bar this year when you can create this delicious holiday drink right in your own kitchen.
If you want a light, refreshing beverage after you wrap up all your gifts, or you need one while you are wrapping, this is the perfect solution.
What is Sangria?
You may be familiar with Sangria, the wine, but are you familiar with the mixed drink?
This holiday Cranberry Sangria is a mixed drink from Spain. It is made with Red Sangria wine, fruit juice, and a little brandy or whiskey.
A true Sangria is going to be a little stronger than the standard glass of wine.
So, be careful when you drink this sweet bubbly. It goes down fast and smooth, but you’ll be more inebriated than you expected before you know it!

Cranberry juice – You can use 100% cranberry juice or a cranberry juice cocktail. Both add a tart flavor to your cocktail.
Orange juice – I would recommend 100%, pulp free orange juice. However, you can use any orange juice or orange juice cocktail you prefer.
Red wine – Use your favorite red wine, or if you aren’t sure what to use, just use Red Sangria Wine.
Brandy or whiskey – As stated above, a Sangria is a little stronger than just a glass of the wine. Add some strength to your drink with your favorite brandy or whiskey.
Fruit – Garnish your finished pitcher with fruit of your choice such as apples, orange slices, lime slices, and fresh cranberries.
You don’t need special equipment to whip up a pitcher of Sangria. In fact, all you need is a pitcher and your ingredients. Follow the steps below for a sweet and bubbly drink!
How to Make Cranberry Sangria
First: Slice up the fruit of your choice. Add the diced fruit, orange, lime, apple and cranberries to a large pitcher.
Second: Add cranberry and orange juice to the pitcher.Next, add your juices to the pitcher. Pour in the cranberry juice.
Third: After the juice is in the pitcher, you will add in your alcohol in order. First, add the brandy. Then, top it off with the red wine. Mix and taste to adjust.
Fifth: Allow to chill for at least an hour in your refrigerator. Serve with fresh fruit and more cranberries in your glass.

Can I make just 1 glass of cranberry sangria?
If you aren’t in the mood to make a whole pitcher, you can simply make one glass!
You will have to scale down the ingredients. Here’s what I would recommend:
- Get out a glass. Place a few slices of fruit in.
- Pour equal amounts of cranberry and orange juice into the glass until it is ¾ of the way full.
- Then, add a shot of wine and a shot of brandy or whiskey.
- Mix your glass with a spoon. Take a sip and adjust as necessary.
- Garnish with additional fruit if you would like.
How long does it last?
The great thing about this recipe is that you can make it ahead of time and store it in your refrigerator. In fact, you can keep it covered in your fridge for up to 5-days.
So, go ahead and make a whole pitcher for the week!
