These air fryer sweet potato wedges are crispy and flavored with simple spices. Serve with a spicy dipping sauce and they are great as an appetizer or as a side with your burger or chicken sandwich.
Wash and dry the sweet potatoes. Cut the ends off the sweet potatoes.
Cut the sweet potatoes in half longways and cut them into wedges.
Place the sweet potatoes into a bowl with 1 tablespoon avocado oil. Toss until the sweet potatoes are fully coated.
To the bowl add the cornstarch, salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and red pepper flakes. Toss until the sweet potatoes are fully coated.
Oil the bottom of the air fryer with a pastry brush.
Place the sweet potatoes evenly in the air fryer.
Use the pastry brush to dab oil onto the sweet potatoes.
Cook at 400° F for 8 minutes. Flip the wedges over. Dab oil on the potatoes.
Cook for an additional 7-9 minutes or until the sweet potatoes are tender and crispy.
If you have two racks in your air fryer, it may take a bit longer.
Garnish with chopped parsley if you like.
Notes
Preheat the air fryer so it's ready to go when you are.
Be sure to cut the wedges in as close to the same size so they cook evenly.
Shake the basket or flip the wedges half way through the cooking time.
Leave plenty of room between each wedge to allow the air to circulate and get each one crispy.
Adjust the cooking times for smaller wedges or later batches.
