Instructions
In a food processor, crush the Oreo cookies to fine crumbs.
In the bowl of a stand mixer or hand mixer, add the softened cream cheese and the Oreo crumbs and mix until well combined.
Using a small scoop, scoop out the dough and then roll into balls. (Small scoop is 1 tablespoon)
Transfer to a parchment lined baking sheet and place in the freezer for about 30 minutes to chill while you melt the Almond Bark and candy melts.
In a microwave safe bowl, melt the almond bark, in 30 second intervals, stirring to fully melt.
Remove truffles from the freezer and dip into the melted almond bark to evenly coat. (You can use a dipping tool or fork)
Transfer back to the parchment lined baking sheet until all have been coated.
In a microwave safe bowl, heat the candy melts in 30 second intervals until fully melted. Stir to fully melt.
Place the melted candy melts into a sandwich bag and snip a tiny hole in the end.
Drizzle onto the coated truffle and add sprinkles. If you are using a second color, repeat.
Notes
Add sprinkles immediately
: Sprinkles stick best when the drizzle is still wet. Work quickly or do small batches at a time.
Oreo varieties
: Swap them out to match your occasion (lemon, raspberry, mint, peanut butter, birthday cake)
Coating preference
: Almond bark is best for smooth melting and set firm setting. You can also use melting wafers or quality chocolate bar.
Prevent cracks
: Chill the truffles for only 30 minutes before coating.
Easy drizzle
: Place melted candy melts in sandwich bag, snip a tiny hole, drizzle over coated truffles. Easy to throw away when you're done.
