Ingredients
20
ounces
frozen french fries
I like crinkle cut
1½
pounds
ground beef
lean
1
tablespoon
steak seasoning
10.5
ounces
cream of mushroom soup
10.5
ounces
cream of onion soup
2
cups
shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375F. Spray a 9×13 pan with cooking spray.
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef along with the steak seasoning, over medium heat until no longer pink.
Drain excess liquid if desired.
Add the condensed soups and stir to combine.
Remove from heat and spread the ground beef mixture in the prepared pan.
Layer the shredded cheese over the ground beef mixture.
Top with frozen french fries.
Bake in the oven 30-40 minutes or until the fries are golden brown and crispy and the meat mixture is bubbly.
Remove and garnish with hamburger toppings like shredded lettuce, diced pickles, diced onions, more cheese, or ketchup and mustard :)
Notes
Use crinkle cut fries for the sturdiest, crispiest topping, or shoestring for extra crisp.
Add the fresh burger toppings after baking so they stay crisp.
Broil for a minute or two after reheating to crisp the fries back up.
Cover with foil when reheating from frozen so the fries don't overcook.
Drain the beef well so the casserole isn't greasy.
