How to Make Empanada Dough from Scratch

In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese together until well combined. Add the flour and salt and beat into the butter and cream cheese.

Use your hands and press the dough together to form a ball. Knead the dough, then wrap in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes or longer.

Roll the dough out and cut it into circular discs with a pastry cutter or small bowl. Add the fillings and seal the edges.

When ready to bake, preheat the oven, brush with egg wash and bake until golden brown.
