Hi, this is Dee from Seduction in the Kitchen. I am honored to be guest posting today on Take Two Tapas. On my blog, my motto is “Everyone Has An Affair With Food,” One of the ways we do this is by celebrating with it.

To celebrate you need cocktails. Which I happen to love creating. So this Salted Caramel Kahlua Layer Shot would make the perfect guest post for me to do here on Take Two Tapas.

SALTED CARAMEL KAHLUA LAYER SHOT

The inspiration for this Salted Caramel Kahlua Layer Shot actually came to me because I spotted at the store a bottle of Salted Caramel Kahlua. Kahlua comes out with seasonal flavors around the holidays in the winter time. I knew I had to have this bottle.

Why? Well, in all honesty, I am a huge sucker for anything salted caramel, that is why. Plus who doesn’t love Kahlua right?

I saw on the Food Network a recipe for Kahlua Hot Chocolate. I wanted to make that, but use this bottle of Salted Caramel Kahlua instead of the regular kind. However, I had just seen a video on making layer cocktail shots, that was when I got really inspired to do something a bit different with that lovely bottle of salteCarmelel delight.

Layer shot cocktails are just intriguing to me. You start with a base, in this case, hot chocolate. Then using back of a small spoon, you need to slowly pour your next layer. You have to do this slowly so that the layering effect happens. Then you do the same thing with the next layer till you have this layer stacks inside the cocktail.

These layer shots when you get done making them can be so pretty with that effect. Some, because the colors are almost too pretty to drink. When you are done with admiring your cocktail, you pick it up, and through it all down in one gulp.

The layers combine in your mouth and oh does it taste good. One shot is never enough, so you do it all over again. See why I find layer cocktail shots like this Salted Caramel Kahlua Layer Shot so intriguing? So I hope you enjoy this chocolate delight I came up with, so CHEERS!

Oh my gosh I love everything about this shot. I may have to make it in a larger glass so I can overindulge on this decadence!
