Description

This basic recipe for homemade balsamic vinaigrette dressing can be customized to make a variety of different flavors combinations and salads!

Scale

Ingredients

2 cloves garlic, minced (or jarred equivalent)

6 tablespoons stone ground mustard

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1 teaspoon cracked pepper

juice of 1/2 a lemon

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

dash of Tabasco

1/4 cup olive oil

Instructions

Mix all ingredients, excluding the olive oil in a mixing bowl or storage container.

I use a mason jar because it is compact and has a tight-fitting lid or a salad dressing container!

Once mixed, taste and make sure that the seasonings are to your liking, and adjust accordingly.  It will taste strong at this point, but the oil balances that out.

Add the olive oil and shake well to combine.

Store in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Notes

*Mine never lasts this long as I use mine as a marinade for meats as well!
