My kids are suckers for chicken nuggets and chicken tenders and chicken fingers.  That is pretty much all they eat.  Not sure what the difference is other than shape and how much a restaurant can charge for the food.  They call them chicken tenders and they think they can increase the price a dollar or two.

What is up with that?!?!

In contrast to me wanting my kids to eat normal meals with us, I love that they are eating from the cheaper kid’s meal menu still as the kids are getting so big and they can EAT!  I created this recipe came because of this very problem.  Using chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts is beneficial in a few ways.  Boneless, skinless chicken thighs are much cheaper than the breasts and by nature, the dark meat has more flavor.

Cutting the thighs into nuggets will not make them dry out as fast as if you cut breast meat into nuggets.  Baking them also helps to retain even more moisture so they are super tender!  With my Homemade Greek Seasoning Mix on them, the kids could not tell that it was dark meat.  I think they were having too much fun putting them on toothpicks.  They didn’t dare dip them into the Tzatziki Sauce because they are still wary of any sauce, but I sure did!  I just squeezed some lemon on theirs.

With the chicken being so moist, you can make these ahead of time for your party and just reheat when you are ready to serve!  What is not to love about a make-ahead party dish?

I am a tzatziki fanatic. It is so fresh and delicious and perfect for cooling down spicy food. I think it's the reason I fell in love with Greek food. These chicken nuggets are perfect for an appetizer or a main meal with a little salad. Perfect for the warm days!

This is a wonderful recipe Jennifer! I totally agree with you that restaurants charge crazy for such small amount of food that are literally the same and you know what? Not even that good for the body! I LOVE how you took a Greek twist on this and I love that you make your own Greek seasoning, heading to see the recipe for that now!
