Cherry Amaretto Limeade (Only 3 Ingredients)

If you like cherries and amaretto sour cocktails you are going to rush to the kitchen to make this Cherry Amaretto Limeade! Using limeade brings the best of sweet and sour and the amaretto ties it all together. One of the most popular cocktails on the blog, this will soon be your favorite!

Cherry Cocktails

I have been drinking this for two weeks straight and can’t get enough of it.  I ran out of bourbon to use in my drinks so I decided to switch to amaretto and bring you a Cherry Amaretto Limeade!

This might have something to do with all the gorgeous cherries that are still showing up at the farmers market.  Week after week, berries for less than $1 a pound dancing in my face and begging to go in my shopping cart.  Big, fat, sweet, cherries, oh, how I love them.

I spent some time pitting and freezing them for later in the year when I am craving them and they are nowhere to be found and I still have pounds of them left!

What cherries are good in cocktails?

I prefer fresh, but fresh frozen will work in a pinch too! Just don’t use the pie filling or those neon maraschino ones for this drink!

What can I drink with amaretto?

I love mixing the buttery almond flavor with Coke and just about any tart fruit juice. Try it with sparkling water too!

Seeing as how the cocktail looks like a sunset, it is best served in the late afternoon. Or you can mix it up and have a light pink cocktail that you can enjoy at sunrise, noon, or long into the night.

This cocktail is part of my 3-Ingredient Cocktail Series! Check out all of them!

What kind of alcohol is amaretto?

It is an almond flavored Italian liqueur.

Does amaretto go bad?

It remains good to drink for a long time on the shelf, although the flavor will fade after a while. Drink up!

Should I refrigerate amaretto?

It tastes great chilled but it doesn’t not have to be refrigerated once opened.

Is Disaronno and amaretto the same thing?

Disaronno is a brand name not a type of liqueur.

You may see these in individual glasses but it is great as a large batch punch too! You can mix everything together and keep it cool in the fridge. Just add ice when ready to serve!

The cherries are a refreshing snack while you are sipping away.

What a delightful cocktail. I made your recipe for my husband and I tonight before our Friday night dinner. Omgosh, it is so-o-o good, I had to jet you know! I saved it on Pinterest (even though it is pretty easy) to make again another night. It might be MY new favorite!

Three amazing ingredients you’d never think to combine… they create an explosion of flavor!! So good. Needs a shot of vodka or gin to kick it up to a regular drink. Otherwise my new favorite!
